Metadata are structured information that describes, explains, locates, or otherwise enables the retrieval, use, or management of an informational resource. Metadata is often called data about data or information about information. Metadata is key to ensuring that resources continue to be accessible into the future. We provide an Excel format metadata template workbook for researchers to document critical metadata. Using this file, researchers can submit their data products with all the required information for submission.
