Title: Artificial Communities Experiment: Net Nitrogen Mineralization and Nitrification Potentials
Contacts: Chapin, F.S.
Viereck, Leslie
Abstract: This data file includes the net nitrogen mineralization potentials and net nitrification potentials estimated in a lab incubation for the top 20cm of soils collected as part of the harvest of the artificial communities experiment in 2002. The 2002 harvest was conducted to calculate total plant and soil N and C accumulation and above ground biomass in the artificial communities after 13 years of growth. Aboveground biomass data can be found in the data file 'Artificial communities biomass in 2002'. And soil physical characteristics including bulk densities can be found in the file 'Artificial communities soil physical characteristics'.
