Abstract: | Bark beetle population levels were monitored at Bonanza Creek Experimental Forest, Fairbanks, Alaska, USA from 1976 to 2012. The per trap total insect count is archived in this dataset for three common tree-killing species of bark beetle in Interior Alaska. |
Methods: | Sampling for bark beetles utilized pheromone-baited multiple funnel traps. Several different baits were used for the various species of bark beetles. Traps were erected in May and monitored at monthly intervals until September of each year for which the monitoring was scheduled. |
Experimental Design: | Plots were systematically selected because of preferred host type and accessibility in 1976 and 1980. |
